The Cure for Grief
The Cure for Grief is a poem from my book, Grieving You: Poems of Love and Loss. For those carrying the quiet ache of loss, I’m sharing it with you. May these words wrap around your heart gently and offer even the smallest measure of comfort and healing.
The Cure for Grief.
We each will walk a different road,
With heavy hearts and aching loads.
No single path can claim what’s right,
For healing is born from grief’s own night.
Some speak their pain in a gentle tone,
Some write it down when all alone.
Some cry until the tears are through,
Some sit in silence, thinking too.
There is no wrong, no perfect way,
To face the loss that came to stay.
Be kind to yourself, take all your time,
Let patience and love be your lifeline.
Seek helping hands when storms feel near,
From friends, from family, from those who care.
For though it’s hard for hearts to believe,
The truest cure for grief… is to grieve.
