Grief Speaks. Love Answers.
Grief has a voice. Sometimes it whispers in the quiet moments when we least expect it. Other times, it cries out through tears, sleepless nights, or the silence left behind by someone we love. It speaks through memories that suddenly return, through birthdays and anniversaries, and through the ache of wishing for one more conversation. Grief reminds us that the person we lost mattered deeply, and it reflects the love we continue to carry.
If grief speaks, then love answers. Love answers in every memory that makes us smile through tears. It answers every story we continue to tell about the person we lost and every tradition we keep alive in their honor. Love reminds us that while death changes a relationship, it does not erase it. The people we love continue to shape who we are through the lessons they taught us, the laughter they shared, and the imprint they left on our hearts.
Grieving You: Poems of Love and Loss was born from this simple truth: grief speaks, but love always answers. After losing my stepdaughter, Kathy, to suicide, writing became my way of responding to grief's voice. Each poem became a conversation with love, a way to honor her memory, preserve our bond, and find hope in the midst of heartbreak. I hope that my poems remind every reader that grief may become part of our story, but love continues to answer.
