A Note From Our FounderDr. Michelle Boodoo
I realized grief is no longer something I want to leave behind. It has become part of me, woven into my love for Kathy. In grief, I find the pieces of her that remain: in the memories that make me smile, in the love that never fades, in quiet moments of thought, and even in my tears. Grief reminds me that Kathy will always be part of my life.
We often think of healing as letting go of grief, but for me, healing means holding my grief with tenderness. My grief is Kathy’s love lingering in my heart. Each memory, each tear, each moment of love is a bridge back to her. If you are grieving, may you find gentle comfort in your memories and trust that love endures beyond loss. |

Mental Health Awareness Month
May was Mental Health Awareness Month. What did you do to help make a difference? Did you: start a conversation by checking in with someone, share helpful resources, such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or offer small acts of kindness? Your involvement didn’t have to be complicated; every action, big or small, created real impact. Continue to join the effort and help foster a supportive environment for mental health every month. Awareness leads to understanding, and understanding leads to change.

| | | Healing Takes Time
I hope you heal from the things you don’t talk about. Some battles are carried silently, hidden behind smiles and “I’m okay” responses. But your pain is valid, and you deserve support, healing, and peace. If you are struggling with your mental health, please don’t be afraid to ask for help. Talk to someone you trust, lean on your loved ones, and reach out to a mental health professional. You do not have to go through this alone. You can also call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, to connect with trained counselors available 24/7 to listen and support you. |

| | Some Days are Just Harder than Others
It’s okay not to be okay. Some days are heavier than others, and struggling does not make you weak…it makes you human. Give yourself grace on the difficult days. Rest when you need to, talk to someone you trust, and remember that you do not have to carry everything alone.

| | Exercise For Your Mental Health
Movement can be a powerful tool when you’re struggling with your mental health. Exercise helps release endorphins, which can improve your mood, reduce stress, and support your overall mental well-being. Find something you enjoy doing and just do it. Even small steps, like going for a walk, stretching, or spending time outdoors, can help create a more positive mindset and support those dealing with depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. Most importantly, remember that you do not have to struggle alone. Reach out to your loved ones, talk to a mental health professional, and allow yourself to receive support. |

| | Mental Health Worldwide
According to the World Health Organization, over a billion people around the world are living with mental health conditions. That means millions of people are fighting battles that are often invisible. Mental health struggles do not discriminate; they can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or status. This is why compassion, awareness, and support matter so much. We need to break the stigma, encourage open conversations, and remind others that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. No one should have to suffer in silence. |

| His Mental Health Matters
According to the CDC, men are nearly 4 times more likely to die by suicide than women. Too many men suffer in silence because they feel pressured to “stay strong,” hide their emotions, or avoid asking for help. We can help reduce the male suicide rate by checking in regularly, normalizing mental health conversations, and sharing resources and support. |

| | The Stigma
Let’s end the stigma and prioritize mental health so no one feels afraid or ashamed to ask for help. Mental health struggles are real, and no one should suffer in silence because of fear, judgment, or misunderstanding. By creating safe spaces, having open conversations, and leading with compassion, we can remind others that asking for help is a sign of strength….not weakness. We can all make a difference by supporting one another and normalizing mental health care. |
