| | A Note From Our FounderDr. Michelle Boodoo |
|
| You can’t pour from an empty cup; self-care isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. Even the smallest moments of care can restore your strength in meaningful ways. Sometimes we all need a gentle reminder to pause and care for ourselves, especially when we give so much of who we are to others. A thoughtful young woman who follows our social media reminded me of that. Before we can truly care for others, we must first care for ourselves. Give yourself permission to do something that fills your heart. Go to the beach, get lost in a good book, enjoy a relaxing massage, or share laughter over brunch with a friend. Whatever brings you peace....embrace it. You deserve the same care, love, and attention that you so freely give to others. |
|
| | | STAY;
If you are struggling with your mental health, please know you are not alone. And more importantly, this world is better with you in it. What you bring to the people around you, your presence, your heart, your light, is irreplaceable. You are loved, and you are enough; STAY. |

| Look and ListenJulie Brooks @miracleminutes responded to one of my Instagram stories with a message that made me reflect on my loss. “Look and listen differently to others as they share bits and pieces of their story.” Her words left me silent for a while. I kept wondering how things might be different today if we had listened to and looked at Kathy differently. In so many small ways, she was telling her story, in bits and pieces, but we didn’t fully see or hear her cries for help. If you know someone who may be struggling with their mental health, please take the time to truly look and listen for the warning signs. Check in with your loved ones, too; many people are hurting in silence, too afraid or too ashamed to ask for help. Thank you, Julie Brooks, for sharing such an important message with me... a message that truly has the power to save a life. |

| | | Mental Illness
The hardest part of living with a mental health condition is often the invisible expectation to function as if nothing is wrong. Many individuals are navigating deep internal struggles while still trying to meet daily responsibilities, social expectations, and professional demands.......often without understanding or support. This disconnect can lead to feelings of isolation, exhaustion, and a sense of being misunderstood. It’s important to remember that mental illness is real, valid, and deserving of compassion, not judgment. |

| | | | | Men & Suicide
Men die by suicide at rates nearly four times higher than women, yet so many suffer in silence, carrying pain they feel too ashamed to share. It’s time we change that narrative by creating spaces where the men in our lives feel safe, supported, and understood. We can help by checking in with them consistently and genuinely, encouraging open and judgment-free conversations about their feelings, and reminding them that seeking professional help is a sign of strength...not weakness. Healing begins when silence is broken, and no one should have to carry their struggles alone. |

| | You Are Enough
You are enough...just as you are. Your thoughts, your feelings, and your experiences matter. Taking care of your mental health is not selfish or weak; it’s an important part of caring for yourself and living a balanced life. Give yourself the same compassion and understanding that you offer to others. You deserve support, healing, and peace. Your mental health matters. |
