| | A Note From Our FounderDr. Michelle Boodoo |
|
| On October 31st, my book Grieving You: Poems of Love and Loss was published on Amazon, just hours before the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention walk in Palm Beach. With final approval and publication in hand, I felt the urge to launch my book at the event, surrounded by people who understood the weight of my journey. The day was filled with tears, gratitude, and quiet moments of healing. Standing among others who carry their own stories of love and loss reminded me that even in the depths of grief, we are never truly alone.
Launching Grieving You at the AFSP walk was both an honor and a profoundly meaningful milestone, one I will carry with me always. |

| On October 10th was World Mental Health Day, a day dedicated to remembering that everyone’s story matters, and everyone deserves support. Be gentle with yourself, be kind to others, and keep showing up with empathy. The world becomes a better place when we care for ourselves and for each other every day, not just on World Mental Health Day. |

You are enough just as you are. Don’t let the noise of the world make you question your worth. Your mental health matters, and you are deeply loved. If you’re feeling low, overwhelmed, or others are making you feel small, please don’t hold it inside. Talk to someone, a family member, a friend, a professor, or a mental health professional. You deserve to be heard and supported. If you need support right now, you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. The world is brighter with you in it. |

| | Suicide Prevention Works
Suicide prevention works. It begins with awareness, compassion, and connection. Learning the warning signs and checking in on your loved ones can truly make a difference. Sometimes all it takes is a single conversation, a moment of listening, or a gentle reminder that someone cares. You never know whose life you might touch just by reaching out. If you or someone you know is struggling, please call or text 988 to connect with the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Help is always available, and hope is always possible. |

| Each year, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) organizes walks at college campuses, parks, and other community spaces across the country. These events raise awareness about the mental health crisis, provide resources for those in need, and create a supportive community for families and friends who have lost a loved one to suicide. For us, these walks are deeply personal... they give us the chance to honor Kathy’s memory and help break the stigma surrounding mental illness. To find a walk near you, visit the AFSP website and sign up. In Her Name will be at the Stuart event in Florida, on December 13, stop by if you can and say hello. For more information, go to www.afsp.org. ❤️
