| | A Note From Our FounderDr. Michelle Boodoo |
|
| Grief has a way of changing us. It reshapes our days, our thoughts, and even the way we see the world. When we lose someone we love so deeply, there are no perfect words to make the pain disappear. Yet, during times of sorrow, we can still honor their life and keep their memory alive. This book is one of the ways I honor Kathy while helping others who are grieving the loss of their loved ones. This book is not only about loss; it’s about love. Love that endures, love that carries us, and love that remains, even when the person we cherish is no longer here.
All proceeds from this book support In Her Name. We are a nonprofit foundation dedicated to promoting mental health, raising awareness, and helping prevent suicide... in her name. To learn more, please visit www.inhernamekp.org |

| | Stop SuicideWe can help stop suicide. It starts with learning the warning signs, listening without judgment, and showing up for the people in our lives who are struggling with their mental health. Sometimes, just knowing someone cares can make all the difference. We also need to break the stigma around mental illness. No one should ever feel afraid or ashamed to ask for help. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. |

| | | Depression is RealDepression is real. Check on your happy friends too....sometimes the biggest smiles hide the deepest pain. Just because someone seems okay doesn’t mean they aren’t struggling. A kind word, a listening ear, or simply being present can make all the difference. |

| | | Many people are struggling with their mental health, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. I previously shared that resources and support for LGBTQ+ individuals at the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline are being reduced or eliminated. This makes the work of organizations like @trevorproject more important than ever. They provide life-saving crisis support and advocacy for LGBTQ+ youth. Please consider visiting their page or website to make a donation, share resources, or get involved. Together, we can ensure no one in the LGBTQ+ community feels alone. |

| | Kindness
Being kind to others is powerful. You never truly know what someone may be going through, especially when it comes to their mental health. A simple act of kindness can bring comfort and hope in ways we may never realize. Mark Twain once said that kindness is a language “the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” It speaks to the heart, crosses barriers, and can change a life. Choose kindness today; your words and actions might mean more than you’ll ever know. |

| | Some Days are Just Harder than Others
It's okay not to be okay.....some days are just harder than others. Give yourself grace on the heavy days. Rest when you need to, cry if you must, and know that you're not alone in your feelings. Healing isn’t linear; sometimes, it's just making it through the day. |

| | | Talking About Suicide Can Save Lives
Silence can be dangerous, but open, honest conversations about suicide can bring hope, connection, and help. Asking someone if they’re okay, listening without judgment, and encouraging them to seek support can make all the difference. You don’t have to have all the answers; you just have to be there. |

| | You Are Tough… You Got This
Life is tough, but so are you. Even the strongest people face moments of struggle. Remember, you don’t have to carry it all alone. If you’re having a hard time with your mental health, it’s okay, and it’s brave to ask for help. You are stronger than you think, and you are never alone. |
