Meetup with Us

If you're in the Boca Raton area of Florida and are interested in joining a meetup to gain insights about depression, social anxiety, bullying, and suicide prevention, whether for yourself or your child, please reach out to us for details on the upcoming sessions.

Suicide Prevention Awareness Month is a reminder that each of us can play a role in saving lives, in our families, our workplaces, and our communities.

How You Can Help Others:

  • In your community: Learn the warning signs of suicide, check in on neighbors, and share mental health resources.

  • At work: Encourage open conversations, remind colleagues about Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), and help foster a culture where mental health is prioritized.

  • At social gatherings: Take time to ask, “How are you really doing?” A genuine conversation can mean more than you know.

  • With loved ones: Listen without judgment, show compassion, and remind them they’re not alone.

Each September, we take time to shine a light on a difficult but important truth: suicide is one of the leading causes of death, yet it is preventable. This month and every month, let’s commit to building a culture of compassion, connection, and hope. Together, we can break the silence, end the stigma, and save lives.

Breaking the Stigma:

  • Speak openly about mental health; it should be treated like any other health issue.

  • Replace judgment with empathy.

  • Share your own experiences if you feel safe doing so; it helps others know they’re not alone.

  • Encourage seeking help as a sign of strength, not weakness.

Losing someone you love to uicide is a kind of pain that words can’t fully capture. It is a grief that reshapes everything, your memories, your milestones, even how you see the world. The questions, the what-ifs, and the heartbreak never truly go away. You learn to carry the weight, but it never truly leaves you. If you have experienced this kind of loss, please know your grief is valid. Your love for them does not end; talking about them, saying their name, and sharing your story are powerful ways of remembering them and healing.

The semicolon (;) is more than just a punctuation mark... it is a powerful symbol of hope and continuation. In writing, a semicolon is used when an author could have ended a sentence, but chose not to. In life, it represents a moment when someone could have given up, but chose to keep going.

For many, the semicolon is a reminder that their story isn’t over. It is used to honor those who struggle with mental health, to remember those we have lost to suicide, and to support those still fighting.

Suicide Prevention is Everyday

As we come together to share our stories of loved ones we lost to suicide, we do so in the hopes of helping others through their darkest moments. The first part of this video is of Kathy’s dad walking in the Pyrenees to honor Kathy’s 27th birthday in 2024 and the second part is one of his life’s greatest moments in 2019 … their father-daughter dance. 💔
